Software Engineering for Everyday Business

1. Introduction

Following an initiative from the chamber of commerce Vienna, I organised four events for small and medium sized enterprises to get updated on new approaches in Software Engineering. These four events deal with:

  • Software Engineering and Software Processes
  • Modeling (UML, MDA)
  • Best-Practices
  • Methods of Quality Assurance

As the program continues, the material from the events will be published here.

2. Software Engineering and Software Processes (9.11.2006)

The first lecture was given by Dietmar Winkler and Michael Pernkopf (slides mostly in german!). The topics were:

  • Introduction to Software Engineering
  • Life-Cylce Phases
  • Selected SE Processes

3. Modeling, UML, MDA (30.11.2006)

The second lecture was given by Gerhard Kramler and Manuel Wimmer (slides mostly in german!). The topics were:

4. Software Engineering Best Practices (14.12.2006)

The third lecture was given by Alexander Schatten and Markus Demolsky:

In this lecture Dietmar Winkler, Denis Frast and I discuss methods to ensure quality in Software Projects with focus to:
